MAIL ORDER FRAUD
BROUGHT TO LIGHT -
A growing mail order business
conducted by two up-to-the-minute
inmates of the Okangon county poor
farm was put out of running order
yesterday by the issuance of a fraud
order from the office of the postoffice
inspector of this district.
The issuance of a tempting
circular as, "Sucker bait," and the
purchase and resale, as ordered, of merchandise
and seeds from catalogue
houses together with lack of
"ovhead expense," enabled the proprietors
to quote exceptionally low
prices, it is stated.
Inspector F. E. Whitney was detailed
to investigate the firm following
a report from the postmaster at
Okangon on the activities of the firm.
