LOOK TO ALASKA
Seattle and Alaska will experience their greatest summer tourist
season this year, Floris Nagelvoort,
tourist chairman of the Seattle
Chamber of Commerce, forecast
yesterday. i
"A large percentage of the thousands of tourist inquiries now
pouring into the Chamber of
Commerce disclose that the writers
plan to visit Alaska as well as the
Northwest," Mr. Nagelvoort said.
"Many of the inquiries come
from tourists who report they have
spent a part of every summer here
for several successive years. Every
character of scenic and recreational attraction is touched upon
in the flood of letters—fishing,
boating, mountain climbing and
other sports.
"One large group in Colorado
plans to visit Matanuska. Many
steamship trips to the Far North
are planned."
Mr. Nagelvoort said many persons are interested in summer
school advantages in Seattle.
Others are planning to take up
permanent residence here.
