New York Buyers Raise Bids on Pacific Coast Top Grades.
The egg market continues unusually firm, due to New York buyers raising their bids on Pacific coast top grades and to the further fact that
receipts are short in western markets of large size, top quality eggs, A report from the Coast states that country buyers have been raising their
prices at the door of producers, and it seems likely, according to that report, that a general increase in selling prices may go into effect early In the week.
Cooperative prices to the trade on specials and extras, have been advanced 1 cent a dozen. Cooperative prices were not changed earlier in the week, when dealer prices were advanced.
The packing house price on dressed lambs has advanced 2 cents on choice and 1 cent on other grades. Pork prices, which have been soaring, are
showing a tendency to ease off slightly. Dressed hogs and pork cuts and me lines of cured meats are down cent a pound.
Movement of the Pasco lettuce crop got under way during the week, the it car of the season being reported on the Coast. While the new crop is
showing good quality, the prediction is made It will find stiff competition from local production, when offered in Spokane. The local crop is ample and of fine quality.
