FOURTH ESTATE HONORS ALLEN
Publisher of Pullman Herald Is Elected President of State Association.
PULLMAN, Wash., May 17.—Karl P. Allen, copublisher with William Goodyear of the Pullman Herald, today received notice of his election to
the presidency of the Washington Press association, an organization of the weekly newspapers and small dailies of the state The election was
held by referendum.
Ralph W. Pinkerton of the Ferndale Record was elected secretary and Ralph E. Reed, Kennewick Courier-Reporter, was elected treasurer.
Mr. Allen succeeds as president David H. Dickson, Elma Chronicle, who had served the last year.
The new officers will have the distinction of serving during the association's golden jubilee year, 1936. The organization was founded at Tacoma
in 1886, with the late Frank M. Dallam Sr. as the first president.
The annual summer convention of the group will be held at Yakima June 27, 28 and 29.
