WORK STARTED ON NEW THEATER
COLFAX, Wash., July 20.—(Special.)—Excavation work has started for a new $30,000 theater which F. C. Weskil and son, Lavance Weskil,
theater owners of Colfax and Sand- point, Idaho, plan to build in this city The new theater is to be built on Canyon street, around the corner,
but in the same block with the Rose theater, which the Weskils have owned and operated for several years.
The theater, which will have no balcony, is to have a seating capacity of 400. An air conditioning plant and the latest sound equipment will be installed. The stage will be large enough for road shows. The building is to be 100 feet deep and will have a frontage of 45 feet. The Weskils also purchased additional adjoining property on Mill and Canyon streets 45 feet by 100 feet and propose to build, at a later date, a modern apartment house.
One dwelling house has been razed and a large frame rooming house will be torn down to make way for the new buildings. A large crew of men are employed on the work.
