Washington State College, Pullman, Oct. 4.-Results accruing froma summer's work of the School of Mines here in co-operation with the Chamber of Commerce of Spokane develop practically the certainty that valuable deposits of war minerals are in Eastern Washington, and that the foundation for extensive metal industries is here. Dean L. O. Howard of the School of Mines reports that definite information now is in hand as to large resources in tungsten and molybdenum, the former metal being of the utmost importance int he manufacture of special tool steels for use in machining many kinds of mechanical equipment used in the war.
