10 LEAVE NATION
WASHINGTON, May 22. -
The labor department Friday gave
Frank Bruce Robinson of Moscow,
Idaho, until July 1 in which to
leave the United States voluntarily.
In a brief ruling, ending months
of litigation, the immigration board
said the psycho-religious leader
"may depart to any country of his
choice."
The immigration bureau started
proceedings against Robinson on
the grounds he was illegally in the
United States.
FOUNDER OF "PSYCHIANA."
MOSCOW, Idaho, May 22. OP)—
Frank B. Robinson is founder of
"Psychiana," a psycho-religious
philosophy he claims is being followed in 67 nations.
A drug clerk, Robinson conceived
the idea about eight years ago,
and distributed it throughout the
world by mail and radio. He maintains headquarters here.
The order for his deportation
came despite intervention for him
by Senator William E. Borah, who
asked the department to drop the
proceedings.
Robinson was arrested at Spokane on August 8, 1936, on a warrant charging he was in the United
States illegally. Details of the complaint were never made public. He
was given a hearing before an immigration officer at Spokane, and|
a report of the proceedings was
sent to Washington, D. C., on
August 22.
A year ago Thursday Robinson
was acquitted by a federal court)
jury here on a charge of falsifying
a passport application. He was accused of swearing that he was a
native of the United States, when
actually he was a native of England. Robinson insisted he had always believed he was born in the
United States.
