PUYALLUP. Sup, W. A. Linklater and the staff of the Western Washington Experiment Station were hosts yesterday to the members of the Pierce County Farm Bureau and the Pierce County Dairymen's Association. Considering the fact that the farmers are busy, Superintendent Linklater thought he would have about 200 guests, but nearly twice that number responded, making it one of the largest parties ever entertained at the experimetn station. This was one of the first opportunities of the Pierce County dairymen to visit the station in a body since the new dairy department was organized and some of the pure bred cows put on test, and the morning was spent inspecting the barns and stock. Following a picnic luncheon, with coffee served by the station staff, there was a short program on the lawn with brief addresses by Superintendent Linklater, C. W. Orton, president of the Pierce County Farm Bureau and chairman of the day ; O.R. McKinney, president of the dairymen's association; Don C. Mac Gruder, representing the dairy division, Washington State College; F. H. McNatt, head of the station dairy department; J. H. Price, representing the Washington hay Growers' Association, and A.H. Aldroyed, Pierce County agricultural agent. Following the program an hour was spent with a dairy stock judging demonstration conducted by Mr. McNatt.
