Ground Searchers Signal. Military Plane to Scene of Lost Liner
This snow-covered ridge south of Kellogg, Idaho, overlooks the gully along Early creek in which rests the Northwest Airliner,
missing a week until Its discovery Christmas day by officers from the flying squadron at Felts field, whose official photographers made
this scene yesterday morning. The photographers' plane shadow shows on the snow. The arrow points in the direction of the wreckage
to which the searching parties shown in the circles are directing the plane. The "X" indicates a rough, tree-covered mountain side, north
of Cemetery ridge, where a broken path through the tops of the evergreens shows the path of the disabled Lockheed Electra transport as
it plunged into the slope on the opposite of the gully.
