Montana sends Forty Thousand.
Helena, Mont., Feb. 13.—A Washington, D. C dispatch to the Helena
Independent says that the complete draft tables show that Montana sent 39,049 men to war, exclusive of the
national guard, who numbered
2003. The total is
41,952. Total registrants were 97,762, of whom 31,721 were married.exactly 90.84 percent of the married men secured deferrment. The single
men deferred were only 2334 in all. one of the lowest percentages in the nation. Only 4004 were physically disqualified, and in percentage only Kansas, Oregon, North Dakota, Wyoming, and the District of Columbia had a better showing.
