Ralph Horr Files Campaign Pledge.
Graduate Manager of University Announces Candidacy
for Prosecuting Attorney in
Unique Manner.
Ralph A. Horr, graduate manager of
the University of Washington this morning filed in the county auditors office a declaration of candidacy for the Republican nomination for prosecuting attorney. Simultaniously he submitted for record an unique agreement with the taxpayers of King County in which instrument he pledges himself to a reduction in cost of operation of the office through readjustment of salary scale, elimination of
the practice of retaining special attorneys and private detectives, and
through obtaining evidence in criminal
cases through the regular peace officers. This agreement is now being
circulated through the county by Horr.
The agreement is arranged in legal
form and purports to be a contract
between the candidate and the people
of the county in which, in exchange for support at the polls Horr agrees to
save $15,000 in the operation of the
office, failing in which he contracts to surrender the office.
