Will Raise Capacity
At Ferris Field Stands.
Accommodations for 6000 baseball fans, 2000 more than' can be
seated now, will be made soon at
Ferris field, home diamond of the
Spokane Hawks.
Business Secretary L. H. Cornell
of the team said yesterday morning grandstand box seats off the
first and third base lines would be
removed this week to make way
for approximately 400 additional
single seats. Only the boxes flanking the press box will remain.
In anticipation of bigger crowds
to come, Cornell said bleacher
seats would be erected.
"The teams have been playing
here to near-capacity crowds recently. It's my belief that these
will become larger later in the season—especially since several special
feature evenings are planned," he
said.
