Description
Both damaged engines can be seen in the wreckage of the West Coast airlines that crashed February 27 , 1956 . It was suppose to land at the Moscow-Pullman Airport in the evening from Lewiston . The plane , carrying 12 passengers and 3 crew . It crash-landed on a slope near the airport in a heavy snowstorm . Three passengers and the co-pilot were taken to the hospital . There were some minor bumps and bruises but no major injuries . The only major damage to the plane was that both engines of the plane were destroyed . At time of scanning (2012) , this photograph was suffering from vinegarization and is degrading . Lines and scarring on the image are a result of that deteriorating .

Digitization
Original photographic negatives were scanned in color at 600 dpi on an Epson Expression 10000XL scanner and saved as tiff files. They were then uploaded to the CONTENTdm server at the WSU Libraries, and converted to 90 dpi jpegs in that process.
