INJURIES FATAL TO DAN BUSH.
CHEHALIS, Wash., March 8 — Dan W. Bush, 66, pioneer newspaper man of this district and for more than 40 years the accredited correspondent of The Oregonian, died here last night as the result of complications that followed injuries received in an automobile accident Sunday. Mr. Bush is survived here by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Bush; a daughter, Mrs. Helen Perrish, Seattle, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Lucille Lockerby, Tacoma. Auto Turns Over. Mr. Bush received a punctured lung and broken ribs when the automobile in which he was riding with his wife skidded in loose gravel on the Napavine-Winlock road and turned over. Mrs. Bush escaped with minor injuries. Pneumonia was said to have been the immediate cause of death. Nebraska claimed the newspaper man as a native. He was a graduate of Nebraska university, and had been a resident of Chehalis for 44 years. His residence here was marked by civic and community prominence and included 16 years as postmaster. He was elected president of the Chehalis Chamber of Commerce in 1933. Mr. Bush was well known in the newspaper fraternity of the northwest. He was prominent in Washington newspaper circles through connection with the Chehalis Bee-Nugget, of which he was once publisher and with which he remained associated after selling it.
