EARLY SETTLER TAKEN BY DEATH
Edgar F. Hume, 67, Resided in Stevens and Lincoln Counties Half Century.
DAVENPORT, Wash., Dec. 1.— Edgar F. Hume, 69, a resident of
this region for 50 years, died last
night at the Mrs. George Bair hospital here. He suffered a stroke
about a week ago at his home north
of Davenport. The funeral will be
held at the Swedish church near
Lincoln Friday at 1:30 p. m., with
the Rev. F. J. Ahrendt, Lutheran
pastor, officiating. Burial will be
in the adjacent cemetery.
A native of Michigan, Mr. Hume first homesteaded in Stevens
county and then moved to Lincoln
county a few years later. He is
survived by five sons, Ernest,
James, John, Lafayette and George,
all of Davenport; and three daughters, Mrs. Alice Jones, Bellingham;
Mrs. Josephine Little, Davenport,
and Edna Hume, Entiat; 17 grandchildren, and a sister and a half
brother in Michigan.
