P. BONNER DIES AFTER ACCIDENT: Spokane Mining Man and Contractor Succumbs in Los Angeles.
Patrick Bonner, 58, construction, superintendent and former mining man of Spokane, died in Los Angeles, Cal., Saturday of pleurisy and pneumonia. He suffered a broken leg more than three weeks ago while working for the Los Angeles metropolitan aqueduct project as a construction superintendent and complications claimed his life. Before going to Los Angeles two years ago he was with the Morris & Knudsen and the former Stewart & Welch construction firms. He was a one time partner in the Bonner-McEwon Construction company of Portland, Ore. He had engaged in mining at Moyie and Silverton, B. C; in Alaska and in the Coeur d'Alenes. He was born in Donegal, Ireland, and came to the United States when 15. He had lived in Spokane more than 25 years. His family is well known in. St. Aloysius' parish and at Gonzaga university. He is survived at the family home, N2718 Altamont, by his widow, Anna Jane; four sons, John, Orville and Patrick Jr., all of Spokane, and James of Pasadena, Cal.; a daughter, Mrs. J. L. Fitzell of Portland; four brothers, Mike of Kimberley, B. C; Con of San Francisco, Cal.; Jack of Butte, Mont., and John of Donegal, Ireland. The body will be brought to Spokane for burial from St. Aloysius' church.
