DR. H. G. MAUZEY.
WALLA WALLA, Feb. 1. (AP)- Dr. H. G. Mauzey, 87, colorful Walla Walla pioneer prominently
associated with the advancement
of medical science in the northwest, died here yesterday.
Commissioned in the United
States army in 1870, Dr. Mauzey came to Walla Walla in 1873, after serving at Fort Vancouver and Friday Harbor, San Juan islands, Puget sound. In 1890 he moved to Spokane, but retired in 1909 and returned here.
He served with the Fort Walla Walla troops in the war with the Bannock Indians in northern Nevada.
