Catherine May cleverly quips , "The chickens of the guns and butter issue have come home to roost " in referencing the administration's inability to account for the increasing costs of the conflict abroad , and their attempts to keep domestic spending as "business as usual ". In an expose that eerily reminds one of contemporary issues with spending abroad in Iraq and the increasing budget deficits , May exclaims , "I will vote for the economy. "
