Young Indians don finery which dates far back in history |
Description |
Young Indians don finery which dates far back in history. - Fine feathers made fine birds when the three Indian boys shown here donned a lot of borrowed finery to dress up for their parts in the recent De Smet Indian fair. The young fellow at the left is Magnus Ford, aged 13. The fancy embroidered jacket is worn by Henry Arippa, 13, and the horned bonnet of the medicine man by Herman Zachery, 11. Rev. Father W. J. Ryan, S. J., Sacred Heart Mission staff, who originated the pageant which these lads helped present, is shown with his young actors. |
