Found an Indian mummy |
Description |
Found an Indian mummy. - Discovery of a scientist in British Columbia. - The mummy, found in a cave, was of higher type than the Indians at present on the coast--Was embalmed similar to that of Egypt. - Harlin L. Smith, representing the Natural History Museum of New York, has been on the Coast for several months past, looking up ancient remains and endeavoring to make collection of Indian relics. He arrived yesterday afternoon from the Harrison lake district, about 100 miles in the interior, where he made the strangest find of all, a well-preserved mummy, which, he says, may be over 1,000 years old. |
