Take pioneer roles in pageant Playing the parts which they enacted in early days of the west, Mrs. Matilda De Laney, aged 80, adopted daughter of Marcus Whitman, and Ezre Meeker, pioneer tourist, represented Washington pioneers in the Washington state pageant given last Thursday at Cannon Hill park by the All Saint's guild. Mrs. De Laney is now writing a book on pioneer days, which will be distributed through the Esther Reed chapter of the D. A. R. |
