Just a couple of the boys celebrating their 90th birthday |
Description |
Just a couple of the boys celebrating their 90th birthday "There's many a slip" philosophized the women of Reno relief corps yesterday afternoon, when they prepared a fine double surprise birthday party for two 90-year old youngsters of Reno G. A. R., only to find that one of the honor guests had "escaped" and slipped off to the Interstate fair. William H. Howard (left), E804 Broad, was successfully lred to the party; but William Gray, W1111 Spofford, at whose home the "shindig" was held, knew nothing of the affair and got away. Mrs. J. S. Lawrence, president of Reno W. R. C., pusued and caught him and brought him back for the celebration. Both men were born September 5, 1840. Howard was with the seventh Illinois cavalry in the Civil war, and Gray with the 92nd New York infantry. |
