Description |
Spokane matron feared them at first, but came to appreciate their fine traits--were close friends of her husband--recalls early days . By Leoti L. West . In my early youth I was greatly interested in the North American Indian and the wrongs which he had suffered from the white men, who had usurped his heritage. I remember committing to momory several poems which had to do with the "wild fox, digging his hole unscared, and the Indian lover wooing his dusky mate" as they wandered through their primeval forests. |
