Past niney James Irwin, oldest of the four remaining civil war veterans in Colfax, was 90 years old las August. He was born in Randolph county, Indiana, August 23, 1839. He enlisted in the 20th Ohio volunteers at New Paris, Ohio, early in 1861. Mr. Irwin has been a resident of Colfax for 24 years. |
