How Spokane became a mining center |
Description |
How Spokane became a mining center - This is the record of a life that presonifies the mining history of the northwest. Forty-six years ago L. K. Armstrong, with a background of a decage of practical mining experience in the Black Hills of South Dakota and Montana, became a resident of Spokane. Five years later, in 1895, his was the guiding hand in organization of the Northwest Mining association. As a fitting token of esteem and affection, the largely attended meeting of the association, at the Hotel Spokane Monday, presented Mr. Armsrtong with an engrossed testimonial to his extraordinary service to the mining industry, and honorary life membership in the organization. |
