Sweden's gold mine is next to largest - Next to the largest gold mine in the world is in Sweden, the largest being in Aftica, Alfred Elner, social case worker for the government, told the Northwest Mining association yesterday. Its discovery several years ago was in teh face of a declaration from experts that no gold could exist in that country. Vanadium, he said, was responsible for the superiority of Swedish steel. The country has no coal, but an abundance of water power. |
