First muckers' ball in 1923 |
Description |
First muckers' ball in 1923 . Today the best advertised western charity event . Thirteen years ago a committee composed of three Mullan men, Archie McPhail, Byron Murray, and Axel Berglund, gave a dance in the main hall of the Morning Club, the first annual Muckers' Ball. Phyllis Pugh's orchestra, with Clyde Savage and Jimmy Nicholson among the orchestra members, played for the dance. A crowd that exceed all expectations was on hand and the gate receipts for the dance netted nearly $700. |
