Description |
Mine florence ore in month - drainage at strike scene on lake level tunnel expected then by president - "Ore was encountered on the lake level tunnel of teh Kootenay Florence mine about 10 days ago, when the lime formation was reached" says a telegram from malcom Stobie, president, Toronto, received by the W. A. Nicholls wire yesterday. "At that time, on the footwall side of the vein, where the crosscut hit the formation, a pocket, 50 x 75 feet, was exposed. This pocket filled with water, which came out with such force as to carry out some of the timbering in the crosscut and the flow of water rushing out of the long tunnel carried away some of the dump down to block the Kootenay highway, which passes below the tunnel entrance. |
