Description |
Found millions, honored little - world acclaimed La Rose for Cobalt strike made by tie cutter - Darragh was modest - accepted a mere $100,000, but was happy as if it had been $1,000,000 - Darragh of the McKinley-Darragh mine and not Jack La Rose was the discoverer of the Cobalt silver district, from wich 345,000,000 ounces of silver have been mined, although the honor has been accorded to La Rose for 20 or more years, according to W. H. Linney, mining engineer of this city, and former manager of the famous Mipissing of that district. At the same time Mr. Linney would not detract from the importance of the La Rose strike. |
