Description |
High grade ore in golden properties . Blackbird property, adjoining Lone Pine, uncovers fat vein-discovery at depth is significant. High grade gold ore running three ounces to the ton has been uncovered in the six-foot vein encountered in teh Blackbird property adjoining the Lone Pine on the south at Golden, according to word reaching Lewiston yesterday. The property, located only a year ago by James Strickland, Virgil Rowe and M. Reed, all of whom were employees of F.O. Miller and his son, Stanley, owners of the Lone Pine mine, is now being operated by Mr. Newton and 12 men are employed. The ore body was struck when a shaft was sunk 125 feet and the vein thus far uncovered is six feet in width. |
