Admit smelter caused damages. - Admitting frankly that the Consolidated Mining and Smelting Company of Canada had wrought damages in the Washington smoke zone, but disputing that every blight coming to the district was from Trail smelter smoke, Lieutenant Governor W. Long Johnson, company's attorney, here yesterday suggested to the international joint commission, now initiating its smoke inquiry, two possible means of solution. |
