Copper market hinges on Europe . Anaconda company head prophesies no big increase until foreign conditions normal. Party visits Butte. John D. Ryan, former assistant war secretary, encouraged at present prices of silver. Butte, Mont., May 22. - John D. Ryan, who resigned as assistant secretary of war last November, chairman of the board of directors of the Anaconda Copper company, and C.F. Kelley, president of the company, arrived this morning over the Milwaukee. They will inspect plants in this state of the Anaconda and Montana Power companies. Mr. Ryan was accompanied to Butte by directors of the Milwaukee railroad who had attended the annual meeting of the company at Milwaukee Tuesday. |
