Manless mill at Lawrence |
Description |
Manless mill at Lawrence . Manager oils the machinery, turns on the power and goes to bed. Busy at Clarksfork. Development and shipments from mines-$50,000 expended in district. "At the Lawrence consolidated of which Joseph Reed is the manager, milling has been reduced to an exact science" says Ravenel McBeth from Clarksfork, Idaho. "Mr. Reed has the ore bins filled, oils the mill, turns on the water power and goes to bed. In the morning, when he goes to the mill, the concentrates are pouring into the bins and the mill is running along smoothly. It is the only one-man mill I have run across. The compressor is also run by water power. The mill feed runs high, possibly 25 per cent lead and 15 ounces of silver. |
