Baker City mining news |
Description |
Baker City mining news . Flagstaff mine is being put in productive shape. Copper strike at Medical Springs has caused a stampede to that neighborhood. Baker City, Ore., Dec. 18.-The Dorothy-Flagstaff, Baker's nearest mine, seven miles east of the city, has been unwatered, timbering repaired and stopes cleared, after lying idle for several years, owing to litigation among the owners. It passed to new hands a few months ago, and is again ready for operation. Sufficient ore is in the bins to start up the ten stamp mill, but this has been hindered by the scarcity of coal for fuel. As soon as coal can be received the mill will be put in operation. |
