Indians to wear $500 robes. - Some of the finest Indian costumes in the Spokane country will be worn by members of the four leading Indian tribes of the northwest at the Spokane Interstate fair, September 1 to 6. J. P. Reed of Inchelium, on the Colville reservation Thomas S. Griffith of the Interstate Fair association as superintendent of the Indian village for the fair next month. Mr. Reed, who was here yesterday, said that more than 100 Indians--men, women and papooses--will come from the Colville reservation to the fair, and that there will be representatives from the Nez Perce, Spokane, Coeur d'Alene and Flathead tribes. |
