Shot in head; may recover. - Allege Indian, San Pierre, while drunk, was assailant. - San Pierre, an Indian, shot a half-breed named Tom, or Thomas Simpson, at the head of Nine-mile creek, a few miles east of Oroville, last evening. The bullet from a 32-caliber revolver entered Sampson's forehead directly between the eyes. The wounded man was brought to the hospital at this place. There are hopes of his recovery. |
