Women Voters
Plan Meetings
on Neutrality
The international co-operation
department of the Oregon League
of Women Voters has completed
arrangements for a series of four
meetings on the timely subject of
American neutrality, to be held on
Tuesday mornings at 10:30 o'clock,
beginning this week. The meetings,
to be held in room E of central
library, will be a continuation of
those held by the Portland league's
international co-operation chairman, Mrs. Frank Kerr. They will,
be open to league members and
others interested.
The meetings have been planned
in response to a recommendation
from Mrs. Louise Leonard Wright,
chairman of the international cooperation department of the national league.
"A study of neutrality should now
be given right of way," writes Mrs.
Wright. "There is every indication
that the subject will be reopened
when congress convenes . . . and;
also because the present international situation makes it imperative
that the United States decide what
role it will play in the prevention
or stopping of war."
i The national league has prepared j
a "neutrality kit" for use by state]
and local leagues which contains a!
study plan for four meetings.
