To Hold Election |
At Annual Meet
Portland colony of the National
Society of New England Women will
hold its annual meeting next Fridaj
at a 12:30 luncheon at the Mallorj
hotel. Mrs. Stuart H. Sheldon, presi^
dent, and her officers and commits
tee chairmen will give their reports
of the year's activities and a new
vice-president, secretary and one
director will be elected. On the nominating committee are Mrs. Robert
E. Merrick, Mrs. Frank B. Cram
and Mrs. H. C. Ewing.

who had ancestors in New England |
prior to 1789. Of its 71 colonies,
six are on the Pacific coast. The
society maintains a scholarship loan I
fund at Pacific university at Forest i
Grove, Or., for senior students. Dr. I
John F. Dobbs, president of Pacific
university, was a guest speaker at a
meeting of the society's national
board in New York last winter.

Y.; Mrs. Frederick Starr Pendleton j
of Brooklyn and Mrs. Parian Sem- !
pie Jr. of Montclair, N. J. Mrs. Rus- j
sell William Magna, past president-1
general of the Daughters of the j
American Revolution, was a guest j
of the colony during her visit in j
Portland.
