Oregon's need for industrial devel-1
opment and to its rich and undeveloped natural resources, a new
organization, to be known as the
Oregon Women's Industrial Forum,
is coming into being this month.
The forum is choosing as its spe-
cific work a thorough study of the
state's raw and manufactured ma- j|
terials and resources, including its j
forestry andv wood products, its j
^mineral deposits, its wool and its \
flax, its.dairying and its agriculture, j
j Mrs. W. W. Gabriel^will Serve as
president of the new group, which j
is identified as a "nonpolitical, j
noncommercial, volunteer organiza-;
tion for the advancement of Ore- >
goh."
The state planning board will act
as a co-operating agency in providing authentic material for programs and studies built around;
Oregon's new, era in industrial development.? As its first project, the
forum is undertaking a study of
conditions surrounding the adjust-!
ment of future rates on hydroelectric power to be generated at Bonneville dam, which it considers aj
matter of vital importance to Oregon and its citizens.
