Washington, May 22.—Labor
department officials said today they
had left the door open for the legal
reentry into the United States of
Frank Bruce Robinson, Moscow,
Idaho, publisher and psycho-religious
leader.
The immigration bureau ruled yesterday that Robinson was illegally in
the country and gave him until July
1 in which to leave voluntarily.
The board hem Robinson, as an
alien, was deportable but agreed to
withhold a deportation order pending his voluntary departure.
It specified no particular country
to which Robinson should go, leaving
the selection to him.
Might Have to Deport.
If he should fail to leave by July 1,
the board ruled that "an order of deportation will be entered and deportation effected, in which event he will
not under existing law be eligible for
entry to the United States until after
one year following the date of deportation and then only if the secretary of labor has authorized him to
apply for admission."
By leaving voluntarily, labor department officials said Robinson may
apply immediately to an American
consul for a visa and if he obtains it
then present himself to a port of
entry for admission as a prospective
American citizen.
Litigation dates from 1935 when
the immigration bureau asserted
Robinson entered the United States
from Canada without a visa.
When his case was appealed to the
board for review in Washington, Senator William E. Borah of Idaho was
among those testifying in Robinson's
behalf. He argued facts did not justify expulsion of Robinson, who has
made Moscow his home for many
years.

Spokane, Wash., May 22.—
Frank Bruce Robinson, Moscow,
Idaho, publisher and founder of a
psycho-religious philosophy, conferred with his attorney here today
but neither would comment on the
U. S. labor department's order for
Robinson to leave the country voluntarily by July 1.
The attorney, Edward Robertson
said there would be no statement before Robinson receives a copy of the
ruling.
Informed that the labor ruling left
the door open for Robinson's legal
reentry into the country, the attorney's only comment was: "I an
pleased to hear that."
