Want State Executives And Congressmen To Make Junket To Far North.

WASHINGTON, Dec. 26. -- If congress will listen to reason that proposed journey of American governors to Alaska next summer will be enlarged to two-ring proportions, being composed of a scintillating selection of stately Solons as well as a glittering gallery of governors. Governor Riggs of Alaska and Delegate Sulzer are framing up the amalgamation of the two big show.
While Governor Riggs is laboring to sign up the governors for his end of the troupe Delegate Sulzer has revised the plane of two years ago to send a congressional party north to inspect the government railroad and all the rest that Alaska has to exhibit.
Look Into Oriental Imports.
In response to a request from commercial bodies of the Pacific coast R. W. Alley assistant director of the bureau of imports of the war trade board, is en route to the Coast to make a personal investigation of the situation in regard to oriental imports, with a view to lifting still further the embargo on the importation of oriental goods. It is represented here that ships reach the coast from the orient mostly empty because of needless import restriction. Mr. Alley will be in San Francisco December 28 and will go from there to Puget Sound.
Boise Man to Leave Army.
R. W. McCracken, formerly congressman from Idaho, recently a captain in the chemical warfare service, received his honorable discharge yesterday. He will go home to Boise to resume the practice of law.
