Assistant State Leader Here. W.W. Underwood of Pullman, recently appointed assistant state county agent leader in this state, visited Yakima Saturday and conferred with County Agent R.B. Coglon. Underwood has had wide experience in county agent work in South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Montana. Underwood at president is studying the agricultural conditions in the portion of the state in which he will work. His idea is to center the work of the county agent upon the outstanding agricultural needs of the community.
Board Meeting Is Postponed.
The November meeting of the Yakima school board, which was originally
scheduled for today, has, been postponed
on account of the absence of J. H. Cor-
bett, president, who is in Seattle, while
looking after some business for the
board. At the prospective meeting B.
F. Kumler, secretary of the board, will
advise the members to hold a special
election in connection with the selection
of a school board member and to ask
the people to authorize an additional
levy of 5 mills for school expenses next
year. Superintendent A. C. Davis will
ask for the appointment of an additional teacher at Central school, where the
attendance is much greater than had
been anticipated.
