County Agent Is Due Here Mar. 15. W.W. Underwood, State Leader of Agricultural Agents, to Remain Here Until Then. Pullman, March. 3-A.E. Lovett, the newly selected Yakima county agent was graduated in agriculture from the Oklahoma agricultural college in 1904. The next year he was assistant in irrigation in the New Mexico agricultural college. In the following year Lovett had charge of a livestock and fruit farm in Michigan. From 1906 to 1908 he had charge of a 200 acre dairy farm. He was then for one year county agent at Oklahoma and next served as manager of a 2600 acre stock ranch. During the period from 1913 to 1916 he was county agent in Oregon and for the period of 1916 to 1922 he has served as county agent leader in Colorado. He is 38 years and married. Underwood Gives Views. "The practical xperience Mr. Lovett will bring to Yakima will be worth while, " says W.W. Underwood, state director of county agents, who arrived here this morning from Pullman to remain until the arrival of Lovett and until he becomes thoroughly acquainted with his territory. "I first met Lovett at a national conference in Chicago four years ago and again in Portland a month ago. Like R.B. Coglon, who was five years state leader before he took the Yakima county job, Lovett wishes to settle down, and hence, was available to us." Will Continue Work. Mr. Underwood states the Lovett's experience gained as manager of one of the largest apple orchards in Michigan ; his owrk in charge of an irriagtion belt in New Mexico ; experience as manager of a large dairy farm ; county agent in Oregon and for the past few years acting director of county agents in Colorado makes Lovett peculiarly fitted for the diversified projects of Yakima county. While Lovett is not expected to arrive here until March 15, county agent projects under the leadership of Mr. Underwood will not be slackened. Next week, W.D. Buchanan, extension servie poultry specialist, will be in the valley giving lectures and demonstrations on the care of poultry from the brooder and incubator stage to chicks. C.M. hunnard, livestock specialist, will arrive Monday to give breeding lectures through the valley and assist E.C. Scott , Boys' and Girls' club leader, in new calf and pig club organizations.
