Display at Fair Will Include Two Prints By Berger
Henry Berger Jr., Portland photographer, has just been notified that two of his prints have been accepted for the fifth international salon of photography, being held at the California Pacific International exposition in San Diego.
The salon is one of the most comprehensive ever to be held in this country and fewer than 600 photographs were selected to be hung from more than 3000 subjects submitted by photographic artists representing 24 different countries. Mr. Berger submitted four prints and two, “Sculpture” and “Bloodhound,” were accepted. “Sculpture” is a study of casts at the Portland art museum. The salon will continue throughout the fair, which will close in November.
Some of the better-known photographers throughout the world whose work will be exhibited include Wayne Albee of San Diego, Karl Struss of Hollywood, Dr. Max Thorek of Chicago, Margaret Bourke-White of New York, Frank R. Fraprie of Boston, Ruth Kilbourne of San Diego, Dr. D. J. Ruzucka of New York, Harold F. Kelbs of Ottawa and Alex Keighley of England.
