TO BE SELECTED
Five Paintings, One Sculpture to Go to Fair
Five easel paintings and one piece
of sculpture are to be chosen to
represent the work of Oregon art-,
ists at an exhibition in New York;
June 16 to July 21, it was revealed
yesterday by Mrs. F. R. Hunter,
state chairman of the American
Artists' Professional league.
Mrs. Hunter is chairman of a
committee appointed by Governor
Martin to select Oregon art works
for the exhibit. Other members of
the committee are Frederick A.
Sweet of the Portland art museum,
Professor A. M. Vincent of the
University of Oregon, Professor J.
Leo Fairbanks of Oregon State college, Pietro Velluschi, Adrien Voisin'
and Mrs. H. L. Corbett.
New York City Sponsor
The exhibition, Mrs. Hunter explained, is sponsored by the city of
New York.
Oregon artists wishing their work
to be considered for the exhibition
were invited by Mrs. Hunter to
communicate with any member of
the committee.
