OREGON CITY, Or., May 8.—(Special.)—"Good-by and God-speed" was
the message of the Live Wires of the
Oregon City Commercial Club to members of that organization at the luncheon today—Harry E. Williams, of the
Gladstone Lumber Company, and a veteran of the Sprnish-Ameriean War;
Cecil W. Koffman, cashier of the Morning" Enterprise; Earl C. Brownlee, city
editor of the Oregon City Courier; Arthur Caylor, night editor of the Morning Enterprise, and Dr. Prank Mount
were luncheon guests. Dr. Mount is in '
the medical reserve officers' corps and
the others go to the officers training
camp at San Francisco.
Brief talks were made by C. Cchuebel,
main trunk line of the Live Wires, and
O. D. Eby, president of the Commercial Club.
Arthur C. Howland, chairman of the
Army Y. M. C. A. committee, and Ser-j
geant Olson told of the work and the
aims of the organization. It was said
that in the campaign funds, Clackamas
and Multnomah Counties were expected1
to subscribe $25,000.
The Live Wries elected the following
officers today: John W. Loder, main
trunk line; George A. Harding, sub-
trunk; G. F. Johnson, transmission
wire; A, A. Price, guy'wire. B. T. Mc-
Bain reported that a bill to provide for
the erection of a public building at
Oregon City had again been introduced
in Congress, and Postmaster Cooke explained he had been authorized to obtain prices on site in proximity to the
Southern Pacific station.
