The organization of a leaders' corps for the season at the Y.M.C.A. was announced today by Orville Ferrell, physical director of a the association. H.F.W. Beutelspacher, a verteran gymnasium expert and one of the best men in the city in heavy gymnastics, will take charge of the corps in the capacity of director. Six names have been included on the roll of the corps as charter members and further membership into the corps can be secured only by passing a rigid examination in gymnasium work under the direction of the corps director. It will be the purpose of the "Y" leaders' corps to develop and drill class leaders to assist in the handling of the regular gymnasium classes on the assoication schedule. In addition the members of the corps will be given advanced work in heavy gymnastics which is not included on the list of regular class work. The charter members of the leaders' corps at the "Y" are Gerald Page, Herbert Bailey, Earl Rice, Ray Keiser, C.Z. Peck and Dr. Fisher. The last named is a member of National American Gymnasium union of Indianapolis, the leading organization in gymnastics in the country.
