Idaho To Lose Dr. M.G. Neale
Moscow, Idaho, Jan. 30. (AP)—
Dr. M. G. Neale, for six and one-
half years president of the University of Idaho, announced tonight
that he had submitted his resignation to the state board of educa-
He said he would return to the
University of Minnesota as professor of educational administration,
a position he left 14 years ago after
Dr. Neale said he received word
today of his election to the Minnesota post. He had submitted his
resignation to the Idaho board at
its session here last week-end, to
be acted on at the board's meeting
at Boise Tuesday. He will assume
his new duties March 28.
The Idaho president will succeed
Dr. Fred Engelbardt, elected to the
presidency of the University of
New Hampshire.
Between Dr. Neale's former service at Minnesota and his acceptance of the Idaho presidency, he
was dean of the school of education for seven years at the University of Missouri, from which he
received his bachelor's degree in
1911. He received his Ph. D. degree from Columbia university,
New York city, in 1917. He was
born at Moody, Mo., in 1887.
