Woman Hits U. S. Idea of Alaska
ANCHORAGE, Alaska, March 12.—(AP)— Deploring false impressions which she said Americans have about Alaska, Mrs. Walter G.
Culver, president of the Alaska American Legion Auxiliary, returned here today from a 12,000-mile tour of the United States.
"They think we sit on icebergs, wear mukluks and feed polar bears. That's about their entire conception of us," she said.
She added a woman in Oregon expressed surprise that she was not wearing furs, instead of a silk dress.
