EGYPTIANS SAIL MONDAY
Wireless to The New York Times.
ALEXANDRIA, Egypt, Aug. 13.-
An Egyptian delegation will sail
Monday for London to sign an
Anglo-Egyptian treaty of alliance
and friendship. The delegation represents all political parties, so Opposition criticism, which formerly
prevented the negotiation of such a
treaty, is now impossible.
The treaty relieves the British
Government of many anxieties, allowing Egypt to relinquish her
overwhelming interest in politics of
the past two decades and to attend
to pressing internal reforms.
During the six months of the
negotiations a gradually increasing
pro-British sentiment has been noticeable throughout the country,
auguring well for the future. Now
that the negotiations are over, it is
hoped governmental business, at a
standstill in recent months, may
resume its ordinary course.
